In this session, Dr. Nativity Petallar discusses Child Protection in seminaries.
• Nativity A. Petallar, ThD is a Professor of Christian Education and Program Director of Holistic Child Development at Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS). At APNTS, she is the focal person for the child protection policy of the seminary as well as for gender equality and sensitivity.
• Her teaching interests include research methods, foundations of CE, life-span Christian development, and holistic development of children. Her research pursuits include child spirituality and child protection and she has written articles in local and international journals. Recently, she co-edited with Rosalind Tan and Lucy Hefford the book God’s Heart for Children: Practical Theology from Global Perspectives.
• She is an ordained elder of the Free Methodist Church. She is a Board Member of Shechem Children’s Home and serves as a member of the Lausanne Steering Committee for Children at Risk. She is married to Mark, and they have two children.
